Scuba diving

Welcome to Adventure Diving with Claude, 1st Diving Operator who introduced recreational and fun diving in Sihanoukville since 1992, the only Dive Resort in Cambodia.

Diving is just starting in Cambodia, and probability there are still a lot of spots to discover. As diving in Cambodia is not as well known as in Thailand, certain diving trips are not easy to organize, especially those for nicest destinations. This is why we do recommend that you build your diving group before coming.

Koh Rong Salem

This is a trip that we can do in one day. This Island is located at 25 km W.of Sihanoukville Port. Departure 08h, return 17h; 1h30' to 2 hours to get there, the same to come back, following the Sea conditions.

This is a very easy diving spot, very shallow ( max. 18m ), no strong current, yearly average visibility 7m but sometimes up to 15 or down to 4. Great coral life and species, anemones, sponges, sometimes rarely : young Reef sharks, white tip, black tip, turtles. Quiet at each dive : school of chevron barracudas, large amount of coral fishes : angels, parrots, anthias, damsel's...

First dive in the morning, seafood BBQ on the beach, second dive in the afternoon.

Koh Tang, Koh Prins, Ilot Veer

55 km South West of the Port, 4 to 5 hours cruising, this is a trip for 2 days minimum, with1stay (or+) overnight, most of the time we set up a camp on a beach around a fire camp though some divers prefer to sleep in hammocks on the boat. Basic but with some charm.

Less rich than Koh Rong Samlem about coral varieties, though there are some places with fields of alveolate corals and pinnacles, but there the yearly average visibility is 15m sometimes up to 30! Everything is bigger, wilder. Nice Eagle ray, Lionfish, spider shells, we could see also a Leopard shark. Excellent diving spot. An excellent drift diving on Koh Prins as well.

Departure day 1 @ 08h , return day 2 @ 18h. 4 to 5 dives possible.

Poulo Wai

This is the last Cambodian Island in the Southern West.

We could dive only once on Poulo Wai as this is the furthest destination ( +/- 120km from SHV Port ) and weather was not good. We probably did not see what it was really there, so this spot remains somewhere a discovery to do.

Please note also that the marine map shows a shoal in the West that could be interesting and promising as in plain water.

Poulo Wai is to be done also in combination with Koh Tang or Pins or Veer or alltogether.

Condor Reef

A reef, hard to see and locate at 75 km West of Sihanoukville Port, this is another 2 days minimum trip with a camp base in the northern bay of Koh Rong for security reasons.
One of the best diving spot in Cambodia : 30m visibility at 20m depth, an unusual natural “architecture”, the scenery is presenting huge rectangle rocs which seem to have been built, terraces, mini walls and 1 arch…
This reef has been the place where different ships sunk. Professional divers, treasure hunters, located a few ship wrecks that we could not see, but we found pieces of porcelain coming from Asian crockery.
Though flora is quiet rare, we were lucky enough to see : Reef sharks, Turtles, a lot of Moray Eels and a young Whale Shark.
Not to be missed if weather conditions allow this trip.

Departure day 1 @ 08h, 1 dive on Koh Rong Samlem, 1 dive on Koh Rong, stay overnight on Northern Koh Rong. Day 2 : 2 Dives on Condor early morning, then back to SHV. Port around 18h.

Royal Islands

This is another 2 days minimum trip. At 55 km NW of SHV. Port, Royal Island are quiet similar to Koh Rong Samlem about flora and fauna, but richest .
They are probably the best destinations in Cambodia for corals and coral’s fauna lovers.
Wonderful when visibility is there, with friendly fishermen villages to welcome you.

Set Salam

At around .m from SHV Port, this little island is truly a Nursery, a bit like Condor Reef about depth (+/- 20m) and visibility (+/- 30m) but here, what profusion with corals and fishes!
We are constantly surrounded with plagues of juveniles.
We saw huge common barracudas schools and a few marlin sail fishes as well, and of course, the usual coral fauna.
With Condor Reef this is another of the best diving sites in Cambodia, but, due to the distance, this is a spot to do in combination with others in the same direction.
